The University in her 67th annual general meeting has enacted a new Hostel Law to take effect from
2018/2019 academic session which are as follows:
1. Upon resumption, the university security personnels has been instructed to search the students luggages before entry into the hostel so as to avoid anyone taking firearms and other contrabands into the hostel.
2. The University has established a quarter for NDLEA within the hostel environment who are working undercover to monitor, arrest and prosecute those involved in illicit drugs within various hostels in the University.
“I was also informed today that the Following items have been banned by the University management to avoid complications that occurred in 2017/2018 session.
i. Deep freezer
ii. Hot Plate or Electric stove or Electric kettle.
iii. Sewing machine of whatsoever size.
iv. Lockers or constructed wardrobe of any kind has also been prohibited. All the existing lockers in the hostel have been moved out by various Hall Admins and security personnels.
v. Gas cooker of any size”.
